SP Setia, one of the leading property developers in Malaysia, has made its way into the English Premier League, after an advertisement was spotted in a match that features Arsenal.
In the Wigan Athletic-Arsenal match held last Saturday, SP Setia and its website logos were repeatedly featured on the stadium's digital advertising board DW Stadium during the match.
"This is the first time a Malaysian property developer has ever been featured on the EPL advertising space," the firm said.
Norhayati Subali, Divisional General Manager of Group Marketing, noted that the advertisement was a marriage of two brands as the group sought to raise its brand presence internationally.
With a total viewership of 928 million fans in Asia alone, Norhayati believed it was an innovative way for the companyto reach its target audience.
She added, "If we can advertise effectively and also bring joy to our customers by supporting their favourite sport, why not?"
The company added that more advertisements were being prepared for upcoming games featuring other prominent teams including Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
