1MDB to develop digital master plan for KLIFD

1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), Malaysia's wholly-owned strategic development company, is developing a digital master plan for the Kuala Lumpur International Financial District (KLIFD).
Datuk Azmar Talib, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of 1MDB, noted that the group aims for KLIFD to be a leading financial district with high-tech connectivity, which uses technologies that are intelligent, smart and future proof.
The digital master plan will be utilised to develop solutions that embrace connectivity and sustainability through new infrastructure services and internet technologies.
The group has appointed a global team of digital planners and IT experts led by Accenture Solutions Sdn Bhd to create the Digital Master Plan for KLIFD.
"With their proven experience, Accenture will be able to help us identify the scale of the infrastructure and how to put it best, focusing on strategic services that work towards current and future needs," said Azmar.
Currently, KLIFD is at the master planning phase and will start the construction next year.
Meanwhile, 1MDB has started a tender process on major foundation works for KLIFD.
The tender invitation is set to be completed in mid-February. 1MDB invites contractors to participate in the development and completion of excavation works and earthwork, piling works, retaining structure and related sub-structure works.
"This is probably among the largest earthworks, covering the size of about 20 football fields or 12ha, and excavating about 20m into the ground," Azmar noted.
